Van Gogh's Irises under the birch trees near the back step of the yellow cottage are Irises taken from the grounds of the clinic of St. Paul de Mausole in St.Remy de Province, France, where Van Gogh spent the last year of his life and where he painted one of his most famous paintings, “The Irises” The bulbs were in a wheelbarrow that the gardener was thinning out and which were going to be discarded so Ester was given some.

Primroses from Blenheim Place: These are located all over the property they have been separated and spread. Blenheim was Winston Churchill’s estate north of London. Ester found them along the driveway.

Heather Bush near the rhododendron in the side garden by the yellow cottage came from Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.  Ester found them in the field and replanted them at Summer Snow.
